What I got for Christmas 2017

Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and if you don't celebrate Christmas then I hope you still had a wonderful day!

I'm here today with a 'What I got for Christmas 2017 blog post' as these are very popular at this time of the year and I know a lot of people like to read them, me being one of them! I love being a little nosy and seeing what beautiful gifts people received on Christmas day and just seeing how happy everyone looks with the gifts they got that is why I thought I would share with you by own.

As on most posts and videos like these a little disclaimer is necessary to say in no way shape or form am I boasting or attention seeking I am just showing you guys the lovely gifts I received this year and am always very thankful for what I receive!

The first present I opened was this TOPSHOP beige duster jacket with a detachable fur collar that I had been eyeing up for a while now but couldn't justify spending that much on it so decided to ask for it for Christmas instead, hoping I would receive it on the big day! And thanks to my lovely parents I was lucky enough to receive it! I've always wanted a bit of a more sophisticated and fancier jacket to wear on special occasions and this is perfect for that!

The second present I opened was this gorgeous Morphe 35R palette which has also been on my wishlist for quite some time now but thought I'd save it for my Christmas list instead of splurging on it for myself! It's a beautiful palette consisting of some lovely brown, gold and bronzy mattes with a few shimmers in there too! Seriously can't wait to paint my eyes with this!

Within the box with the Morphe palette I received the Nars radiant concealer in the shade vanilla! I've heard many good reviews about the Nars concealers and have always wanted to try one out for myself! My sister knew this and decided to treat me to one! With this in mind she asked me what shade would fit me best and after trying some out in Selfridges and consulting with the very helpful assistant there she told me that the shade vanilla would be nice if I was wanting to brighten up underneath my eyes and that's exactly what I wanted. So was very happy to wake up to that on Christmas morning!

Also within that box I received the Jefree Star liquid lipstick in Celebrity Skin! I recently used my friends lipstick who had this and was obsessed, its such a gorgeous pinky nude matte that stays on all day and dries instantly! I love it!

The next item was a little bit of a surprise for me as I was undecided between two colours of the Reebok trainers and was unsure which ones my parents would choose for me but when I woke up on Christmas and found out they bought me the khaki ones I was very pleased as I was thinking the night before Christmas that the baby pinks ones I was undecided about were definitely not my style, so they made a good choice!

My main present from my family was these gorgeous Bianca Chelsea Dr Martens which I absolutely love with all my heart! I've always wanted a good pair of Chelsea boots but could never bring myself to spend so much money and I am so very grateful that I received these and they will literally never be coming off my feet!

From one of my best friends I received the Iconic illuminator highlighter in the shade original which is a gorgeous golden brown colour and is very different to all of my other highlighters as I usually use powder ones but it is super easy to apply which is a problem I thought I would face and the glow is absolutely unbelievable.

On top of this she also gave me the most beautiful Pandora ring which I was not expecting at all! My best friend knows how much I love cute dainty rings and spoilt me by getting me this one which I'm in love with.

From my boyfriend who also spoilt me! Got me this gorgeous Tiffany bracelet to match the Tiffany necklace I got for my 18th! I don't own many bracelets but have always wanted to have one that I could just wear all the time and this is definitely one of them! And as if it couldn't get any better than the he even engraved our initials on the back making it an extra special gift! I love it.

At last but by no means least with the money I received off family members and friends me and my friend decided to splurge and my Jason Derulo concert tickets for next year! So thank you very much to all you who have kindly gave me money and helped me go and see him live who I have wanted to see for ages! I can't wait!

Yet again thank you to everyone who gave me a gift I am very grateful! And I obviously haven't included all my gifts in here just my main presents but I still very appreciative of them all!

Thank you for reading, see you soon!

Christmas Tag | 2017

I was recently tagged by the ever so lovely Katie from katiesummersfashion blog (make sure to check her blog out! I love it and I'm sure you will too!) to do a Christmas tag and here I am with my last blog post before the big man in red comes down our chimney, to deliver it to you! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas eating lots of food and spending good quality times with loved ones!

1. What is your favourite Christmas movie?

If you haven't already read my recent post on 'My top 5 Christmas films to binge watch' then you won't know what my favourite Christmas movies are but if I was having to whittle it down to just one movie it would have to be Nativity! I absolutely love this movie and even after watching it 18638 times it still gets me laughing! Such a good film to watch with a bunch of your mates or with family!

2. Do you open you presents on Christmas eve or Christmas morning?

My family and I have always opened them on Christmas morning and it will continue to always be like that! However me and my sister do get given Christmas PJs on Christmas eve as a little gift to wear them at night and on Christmas morning!

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

I don't really have a favourite Christmas memory that instantly springs to mind as we usually do the same thing every Christmas but that's what I love about it! Just being able to relax and spend time with family especially visit distance relatives who don't live as close to me as I'd wish.

4. Favourite festive food?

This was the hardest question out of them all as I absolutely live for the food on Christmas day, I look forward to it every year! So I couldn't possibly only pick on and instead I picked three (oops) but they are in no particular order:

1. Pigs in blankets
2. Yorkshire puddings
3. Gravy

My mouth is already watering!

5. Favourite Christmas Gift?

As Katie said in her post it is very difficult to choose as I am very grateful for everything I receive but I have probably got to say my dog which I received 6 years ago! He was a late Christmas present that we got in the early new year and was a shock to both me and my sister as my dad always said no until 6 years ago! So lucky!

6. Favourite Christmas scent?

We've occasionally had a real Christmas tree but tend not to anymore because they make a huge mess and aren't the best with a small little naughty dog but in regards to this my favourite Christmas scent was the smell of a real Christmas tree, it would definitely feel like Christmas whenever you walked into my house!

7. Do you have any Christmas eve traditions?

As stated before my parents give me and my sister Christmas Eve PJ's to wear on Christmas morning and apart from that we don't really have any other traditions.

8. What tops you tree?

A beautiful handmade angel that my Nanna made before she passed away! We make sure it tops the tree every year to bring back all the lovely memories we had as children with her.

9. Whats the best part about Christmas for you?

The best part about Christmas for me is definitely seeing and spending a full day with my whole family and distant family who live hours away and we don't see as often! It brings a smile to my  parents faces as we know that they wish they could do this more often but cherish the special day that is Christmas that brings us all together!

2017 Christmas gift guide for him

I absolutely love spending money on my loved ones when it comes to Christmas and I think I do pretty well when deciding what to buy people (if I do say so myself).

However, I've always struggled when it comes to buying presents for any male relatives or friends! I think with being a girl I have a good idea on what other girls with similar taste to me like but not as much boys even though, I've been buying presents for my boyfriend and male relative and friends for a while now so should have had plenty of experience going shopping and searching the web for male gifts.

I know a lot of other people who struggle with buying gifts for men as they want to get them something they know they'll love but is also something more that a lynx aftershave set! So here I am to provide you with some ideas that you can buy for you boyfriend, dad, friend or even granddad!

Panasonic ER-GN30 Nose, Ear and Facial Hair Trimmer

Now this might not be a gift that is on all of your male friends and relatives wish list but let me tell you they will be thanking you when they open this on Christmas day. I know not all men especially younger boys won't be needing one of these yet or older men who are happy with the way their facial hair is etc but not all men are into going out and getting their eyebrows done whereas this 4 in one tool can do just that and more for you in the comfort of you own home! This cost only £13 from Amazon and is a different gift from your average chocolate orange.

Vinyls, CD's or an iTunes/gift card

Depending on the person you are buying for and their preference on what they like to listen to their music on then a vinyl, CD or music gift card would be great! Everyone loves listening to music and would really appreciate their favourite album that would suit their preference. It's an easy but more thoughtful gift showing your loved ones that you really know them!

Beats Headphones or an Amazon Echo speaker

To go with the music related gift you may or not buy them you could pair it with some earphones or headphones depending on how much you are wanting to spend on your loved ones or you can spend a little more money buying them some beats by Dr. Dre headphones which come in many different styles and colour or some inexpensive earphone from the likes of Asda or Tesco.
Another item that you could pair with your music related gift is speakers! Yet again speakers can range from cheap to expensive but if he is a guy who is really into having parties listening to music or even just relaxing with some background music then this would be a great gift! I've heard many great reviews about the Amazon Echo which goes beyond just playing music it even makes calls! And is also voice activated.

Essentials - Dressing gown and slippers

Every guy needs to have a warm cosy dressing gown that they can just lounge around in whenever wherever especially on christmas day and whats better to pair them with a comfy pair of slippers! I found some goregous looking dressing gowns on John Lewis ranging from prices but this one in particular being £45 due to it's tartan pattern and soft cosy material! But you can find very simialar in places like Matalan for only £12!

Advanced car safety kit Extinguisher and torch - EVAQ8.co.uk

This would make a perfect gift for anyone who is often driving and don't think about taking essentials such as a safety kit or windscreen ice scraper because with England you never know what will happen! So having this little handy dandy kit filled with everything you could possibly need but don't ever think of taking on a journey would make a great gift and they will thank you one day!
For the amount of items you receive in this it is great for the price of only £30!

Virgin experience days

Now saving the best gift idea to last!
Virgin experience days are offering Christmas Gift and experiences ranging from as little as £15 for a comedy night for two or up too £100 for a test drive driving super cars! There really is a lot of amazing experiences to choose from depending on your budget and on the person! There is a whole section on the Virgin experience day website dedicated to 'gifts for him' so really helps refine searches. This would definitely be a Christmas gift to remember!

Top 5 Christmas movies to binge watch!

Now its December Sundays are automatically dedicated to wrapping yourself in your duvet with a
hot chocolate and nibbles, binge watching Christmas movies!

But if you are like me and don't usually like re watching movies (unless it's mean girls then that can be re watched every day) then you'll find it hard trying to find some good decent Christmas movies.

Well here I am in today's post to share with you my top 5 favourite Christmas movies! I've tried to include maybe some unfamiliar ones that I haven't heard as many people rave about but I couldn't leave out some really well known ones that are my all time faves.

1. 12 dogs of Christmas
Now if you are a big dog lover then you are going to love this movie! Its such a warmhearted film about a girl who moves away from her home time during the depression to a place where dogs are banned and after finding an abandoned dog one day she hides him and with twists, turns and a bit of romance along the way she attempts to have the annual school Christmas Pagent show with all the dogs she and her friend rescues. Definitely an easy to watch film great for all the family.

2. Rudolph the red nose reindeer the movie
This movie was my absolute childhood at Christmas and brings back so many memories when watching it. Yet again another great animated movie for all the family telling the story of Rudolph the reindeer being bullied through out his youth because the colour of his nose running away discovering new friends who accept him for the way he is but after the evil ice witch steals Rudolph crush and threatens to destroy Christmas Rudolph has to overcome his fears of getting teased and save the day.

3.It's a wonderful Life
Another movie that holds so many memories and a special place in my heart being a movie watched every Christmas eve with my family! If you aren't a fan of black and white movies then this probably isn't for you being set in 1946 when an angel is sent down to earth to make George wish of never being born come true he soon stats to realise how much of an impact he has had on other peoples life and how he has changed them.

4. Nativity!
This is probably my favourite Christmas movie of all time! Its such a fun, humours movie to watch over and over again. The children actors are absolutely great as well as the very catchy songs which get stuck in your head all day long! It has a great line of cast member such as Martin Freeman and also has a cute love story along the way! There is also a nativity 2 and 3 however I do not found them as entertaining as the first one!

5. Christmas with the Kranks
A movie I actually only watched for the first time the other day and has made it to my top 5 Christmas movies of all time! Another great family, comedy seeing the Mr and Mrs Krank lacking their Christmas spirit in spite to take a cruise to the Caribbean until their Christmas obsessed  neighbours are determined to win the best decorated street competition and they soon see their lack of Christmas spirit.

I hope my suggestions intrigue you to give these movies a watch and love them as much as I did!

Hope you are all having a lovely snowy Sunday.
Thank you for reading, see you next week

OOTW | My typical University attire

First of all happy December first everyone! I hope you all woke up as excited as me to open the first door of your advent calendar and to count the days down until the big day!
Unlike most people who are probably starting today off with their first Christmas blogpost I am not, mainly because I'm a flop and would not be able to keep up posting a blog post every day until Christmas so I applaud you if you are doing that however I will try to post abit more than usual, fingers crossed.

I am here today with a new blog post that really isn't Christmas related in anyway but hey ho I'm giving it to you anyway!

And for today's post I'm going to be showing you my five most lovable outfits to wear to University in the winter time and hopefully give you some inspiration for school, college, Uni or even maybe some ideas for what you could ask for for Christmas.

Monday

Turtle neck burnt orange jumper - New Look
Leopard print A line skirt - Topshop
Black wolly tights - Primark

Tuesday

Black long sleeve turtle neck - NEXT
Black and white checked cropped jumpsuit - Primark
Brown belt - Primark

Wednesday

Nike grey and white leggins - ASOS
White V neck top - ASOS
Black oversized denim jacket - BooHoo

Thursday

White cable knit oversized jumper - ASOS
Checked floral pinafore - Topshop
Grey 'Baker boy hat' - Topshop
Black wolly wights - Primark

Friday

Green high neck jumper - H&M
Checked cigarette trousers - H&M

Compared to a lot of University students I do often like to make an effort with my appearance for Uni just because I feel like if I'm totally feeling myself in the way I look and dress I'll more so than not be more motivated and have a better day!
I also occasionally just wear jumpers without jackets as I live 5 minutes away from campus and usually start in the afternoon when the sun is usually at its peak therefore I don't feel the cold as much so a jacket isn't needed but I always regret it when i'm walking home and it's either pouring down and freezing af.

Hope you enjoyed this short little fashion post! I have some upcoming Christmas blog post to get in the spirit but will also be doing my normal lifestyle, beauty and fashion posts which are non Christmas related.

Thank you for reading, see you soon

False eyelashes or Mascara?

Due to having a lot more plans and me leaving my room a lot more frequently than I usually would I have seen myself to have been buying a lot more beauty items than I usually would! One of those items being False eyelashes.
Now I love false eyelashes, I think they just make your eyelashes look a lot more fluffy, bold and outstanding however, when being asked what do I prefer false eyelashes or mascara? I can never seem to give an answer as they both have their pros and cons for me.

As stated before false eyelashes just add to the natural look of your eyelashes but make them look more intensified and prominent especially if you choose the perfect pair!
For me I tend to opt for Eylure False Eyelashes in 101.
I don't know whether this is the product or me but I find these eyelashes pretty difficult to apply as I find the glue takes quite a while to set before applying them to your eyelashes and then manhandling them trying to stick them on but they are curved perfectly so they fit the shapes of your eye which is hard to find in a good pair of eyelashes as you could spend ages fiddling with them cutting them down to the right length because they are too long!
If looked after correctly or not losing them on a night out then they can be worn multiple times so in the end is definitely worth almost £6 which is a little steep.

On the other hand, mascara is a blessing as it is obviously a lot more natural as you apply product to your own lashes just making them look longer and bolder but can often clump and smudge throughout the day depending on the mascara you choose.
I often wear Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara so I am safe from panda eyes and mascara running down my face which it definitely prevents. I have been using this mascara for over two months now and even though I should probably invest in getting a new one I hate throwing away makeup that still has a lot of product in but maybe it is time to say goodbye as the bristles of the wand start to become clogged and lumpy with mascara but like I said you do get a lot of product from it especially for £8.99 which some might say is a bit pricey considering you can get cheaper drugstore mascaras.
In comparison to high end mascaras this mascara keeps its curls for a long time and gives you those thick dark lashes we all long for!

Even though I would love to wear false eyelashes every day because they just make me feel so sassy and fabulous I simply don't have the time or effort to spend on putting them on every day when it takes no longer than 5 seconds to put on some mascara and not have the risk of my own lashes flying off like I would false ones. I would definitely keep the false eyelashes for my night time attire and mascara for my everyday.

OOTN | Bel Boutique

I recently went on a night out in Manchester for the first time for my best friends 19th birthday and thought I'd treat myself to a nice new outfit considering I don't often buy going out clothes as I never usually go away to celebrate.

So I decided to purchase this gorgeous khaki suede two piece from an online brand called Bel Boutique!

I usually wear a size 10 when it comes to outfits like this so was advised to buy it in a size medium, at first I was unsure as it was only a zip up skirt and top so thought it would have been difficult to squeeze in however it fits perfectly!

I love how you can position the straps differently depending on how you are feeling whether to just tie them round the back of your neck or cross them over adding a little more to the chest area! The same can also be said for the skirt whether you want to tie the end of the string at the top and possibly hide it away or end it at the bottom tying it in a a cute bow like I did.

One thing I will add about this outfit as it is unclear in photos that I decided not to wear underwear with this outfit just because it would show due to the side of the skirt exposing skin and would show the outline of your underwear, now I am usually not one to do this but I really loved this outfit and wanted to at least try it out and when it came I realised that there was no problem in not wearing underwear and that it wouldn't make me feel uncomfortable or conscious as the skirt is long enough obviously to make sure that nothing is showing and unlike some skirts it doesn't rise when you are walking or sitting down so your behind isn't exposed!

When continuing to search on their website for other items I could buy I could have literally bought the whole collection! It ranged from two pieces to jumpsuit and dresses all of different unique styles!

The delivery process was super quick and came without 2 working days! Which was great especially because I was expecting it to not come in time for when I needed it as I always leave everything till last minute.

One factor I often take into consideration when purchasing off independent boutiques is the prices. Is it worth what you are buying but I didn't even have to um and ar over the prices as it was definitely great value for money! £40 for two items is amazing! Especially for the quality and standard you receive in your order.

Make sure you visit their website at: Bel Boutique and make sure to follow them on Instagram so you don't miss out on some super hot deals and discounts they offer frequently.

I'd love to see your pics if you purchase any item from their store! I know you'll fall in love with them as much as I did!

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Self Tan Mousse review

If you know me then you know that I am the palest person you will ever meet and now and again especially on special occasions when I'm exposing my legs or arms etc I like to look a bit more bronzed and often tan myself especially at this time of the year where you can't just step outside and get a tan.
I think when I've got a tan I feel much more confident and I'm less self conscious about not wearing tights or jeans when going to a posh event or out round town, I can feel sassy and comfortable with my bronzed goddess legs out! Now I'm not saying that if you are pale and choose not to fake than that you can't feel beautiful and 'goddess' like but this is just a personally preference of mine.

I've only recently started self tanning in the last year or so as I was always too scared to try any out and look like a cheese puff because I am that pale that even the light shade would look supper dark on me. So I started out with trying self tanning moisturisers but they werent really what I was looking for, they weren't as dark as it'd have liked it to go and didn't bronze my skin like I would have hoped.

I thought I'd try a self tanner mousse for the first time. I didn't want to go for really expensive ones from brands such as 'Loving tan' or 'St Tropez' because that'd be at least £20 or more down the drain if I were to not like it! So I opted for a drugstore self tanner from Rimmel.

I've used the Rimmel Sun Shimmer Sel Tan Mousse for just under about a year now and I absolutely love it! It does everything and more than what I would want to get bronzed skin and it being super cheap at just under £8 its my number one self tanner.

After moisturising, shaving and using my 'Bodyshop virgin mojito exfoliater' in the shower so my body is now clean from all excess dirt I apply the self tanner with a tanning mit, mine is a St tropez mit I received for my birthday but I'm sure you can find just as good mits from Primark or elsewhere for half the price. The product is super easy to apply and goes on very evenly.
It dries completely in 5 minutes which is amazing meaning you don't have to sit around and wait before doing something and after washing the guide colour off after about two hours it left a lovely even golden look.
I decided to purchase the light shade to see if that would do the job and be as dark as I'd like and it sure did the job. It is perfect for every day wear if you are only wanting a light natural bronze look but is also build able if you are wanting to go a little darker! It doesn't make you look orange which is great as being so pale most self tanners can often do that!
And finally, unlike most self tanning products this one doesn't have a really revolting biscuity smell to it!

My top 5 must have A/W coats

Autumn and winter is my favourite time of the year clothing wise, I love just being wrapped up warm in a big woolly jumpers with knee high socks and a good sturdy pair of boots. But one clothing item that is an essential for me especially in autumn and winter is coats! You can never have to many coats. Coats are so versatile and there are so many to choose from especially this year with the trends being so different.

Being the big coat lover I am I've been browsing the web and searching stores to see what different coats they have that might tickle my fancy and I've seen a range from inexpensive ones to expensive ones to neutral beige tones ones to crazy patterned ones. And here I am to share my top 5 must have coats for autumn/winter with you to help you find your perfect coat for this season.

H&M Faux fur leopard print jacket

If you read my previous post you probably know I have a little bit of an obsession with anything leopard print at the moment and when I saw this jacket in H&M I fell in love! And as if it couldn't get anymore better than the design the material was so fricken soft it felt like a cloud (or what I imagine a cloud to feel like) and would keep you extremely warm and is something you definitely want if you come from England. The only downside was the price. I've always know H&M to be quite reasonably priced and often items are cheap so when I saw the price of this jacket was almost £80 I was a little shook as I was expecting it to be at least £50 but on the other hand I wasn't too surprised because when searching online for faux fur leopard print jackets they were seen to be priced a lot higher so is most likey the cheapest one I will find but personally I am still not willing to pay £80 for a jacket.

If you haven't seen at least one person wearing one of these 'puffer jackets' then you've definitely been living under a rock as they are very in this season with many different colours, but personally I love this mustard colour one as it adds a little something to my all black wardrobe and the dark gloomy nights of autumn/winter. Even though this jacket doesn't look the warmest of them all it will be perfect if you live in a more wet and rainy place in comparison to a cold and chilly one due it being a waterproof material and coming with a hood which can I say adds so much to it with the lining of fur. With it being from Zara it is a little pricey but you are paying for a good quality quilted jacket however I have seen many similar in high street stores such as Primark however not all come with hoods.

Tan/camel coloured jackets are very in this season and it doesn't surprise me as they have that very sophisticated and classy look to them without even trying! This jacket is perfect for a night out or on a little bit of a warmer autumn day as the material doesn't look as warm and fluffy as the first jacket but looks like it has a soft texture to it! The length on the jacket is perfect especially for petite people like myself as it won't drawn you going down to your ankles however the only problem is there is no button or zip to close the jacket so if it gets extremely cold you're still quite exposed.

Last year for Christmas I received an almost identical jacket to this one from New Look but from Debenhams and it's been a love of mine ever sine! When it comes to this season I can never take it off! I think jackets such as these are so fashionable but also pretty basic in the sense they can be dressed down or dressed up depending on the occasion! I'm a lover of the faux leather style as that leather, rock-chic is my kind of vibe and style but the liner faux fur just adds to that winter feeling making it look a lot more cosy and warm. The only downside to leather jacket is it can be quite tight fitting so is usually uncomfortable when wearing a think jumper underneath.

Now this one is probably not a suitable jacket for those who are expecting to keep warm or if you live in England as it's a longline blazer so isn't the thickest of clothing but I just couldn't not include it because I think it's such a gorgeous blazer which is great value for money at only £25 it would create such a sophisticated look with a pair of high waisted jeans and a stylish pair of patent leather boots so would be a great item for an autumn night out for somewhere fancy.

Whats your number one clothing item this season?

A/W leopard print velvet boots

If you follow me on either Twitter or Instagram (which you totally should)  you will have seen me teasing you all with a picture of these gorgeous leopard print velvet boots and mentioned you should keep an eye out on my blog for the big reveal on where they are actually from! I imagine some of you had a guess of places like Topshop, River Island, Zara but in fact you are all wrong. These boots are actually from Dorothy Perkins! A shop I wouldn't usually see myself shopping in mainly because back in my hometown we don't actually have one and secondly because of the target audience it's customers are, typically being middle aged or older women! But it's insane the amount of clothes you seen that you are like "wow I'd wear that".

When browsing in their for a birthday present for my mum I came across these beauty's and instantly fell in love but trying to be the good student I am and living of Pot noodles I stopped myself from buying them. Only to go back a week later and actually purchase them. I was amazed at how cheap these are originally priced at £35 but with my student discount cost me only £28 that's amazing for a great pair of comfortable, stylish boots. They have a good sturdy sole and are really easy to walk in even if you don't often wear heels at all!

When I wear boots that have a lot to them like these ones I tend to keep the rest of my outfit quite casual making sure I don't wear any other patterns which may clash or take the attention away from the boots and as my wardrobe is full of nothing but dark colours it was perfect to create a great look.

Leather Jacket - Debenhams
Jamie Jeans - Topshop

These are now only £26.25 on the Dorothy Perkins website, get them here!

American make-up haul

If you read my NYC travel post then you will know that I went to New York (hence the blog post) and you can't not go to New York and not splurge millions of dollars in Sephora, am I right ladies?!
However being the poor student I am, I didn't exactly spend millions of dollars but it sure did feel like it!

I bought a couple of make up items with money I got for my birthday and here I am to share my thoughts and opinion on these products before you invest in them for yourself.

Huda Beauty liquid matte - shade: MUSE

I spent ages looking in Sephora for a lipstick (preferably a matte liquid in a nude/pinky shade) and obviously every beauty stand in there had at least 5 of each but I just couldn't make my mind up! In the end it came down to my sister convincing me to get the Huda beauty liquid matte in the shade muse, main reason being that you can't actually buy Huda Beauty in stores over here in England and I'm always sceptical about buying make-up online. So, I took her advice and bought it and I'm so glad I did! It's got an amazing formula unlike most liquid lipsticks it doesn't make your lips look or feel dry!  It's very lightweight, easy to apply and best of all long lasting!
The only down fall for me is it's a little more on the purple side in terms of shade than to what I would have liked but either way still a gorgeous colour!

Huda Beauty Rose Gold edition shadow palette

Another little story on this product is I originally went in Sephora intending to buy the 'Tarte in bloom' eye shadow palette but somehow my sister persuaded me out of it saying "I already have too many neutral eyeshadow palettes and I don't need another one"! I totally agree with where she is coming from. So having this in mind I took a browse at the Huda Beauty Rose Gold edition shadow palette and instantly fell in love, even more so when I tried it out!
The colours are absolutely gorgeous! Easy to blend and can create so many incredible looks! It includes 7 pressed glitter shades which add so much glam to the eyes. It's probably one of the most pigmented eye shadow palettes I've ever used and just glides on and stays on all day.
A little pricey but definitely worth the money.

Becca highlighter - shade: Champagne Pop

Now I'm sure you've heard many beauty bloggers discuss this highlighter before and I know I'm a bit late to the party but it's better late than never, right? Right!
I can agree with a lot of beauty bloggers and say this is an amazing highlighter!
It produces a gorgeous gold, shimmery glow, staying on all day! However it can create a very intense look so personally I wouldn't wear on a day to day basis.
Even though the product was quite expensive you do get a lot of product so is definitely worth it!

Laura Mercier translucent loose setting powder

Yet again, another product I'm late to the party on buying in the beauty blogger world!
I heard a lot of good reviews on this product but would always just stick to my drugstore 'Stay Matte' pressed powder my Rimmel as it did a good enough job but I thought it was time to venture out and try something a little different.
The Laura Mercier loose setting powder is extremely lightweight! Which I love!
It makes my skin look flawless and helps keep my foundation looking matte and stops it from getting
patchy!
A definite must in my makeup bag now

Kat Von D Lock it foundation - shade: Light 42 neautral

I was umming and ahhing whether to purchase the Kat Von D foundation or the Make up forever foundation having heard great reviews on them both! But in the end I ended up going with the Kat Von D foundation purely based on it being cheaper!
I wasn't overly impressed with this foundation and was rather disappointed having spent $35 in comparison to my usual £12 foundation.
I have quite dry skin and it made my skin really flaky and patchy especially around my nose and slightly on my forehead which made me feel very uncomfortable throughout the day.
The product is very thick and heavy that it doesn't settle.
I was also disappointed when it's advertised as 24 hour wear when it didn't even last a couple of hours before it started going patchy!
I really wanted to love this foundation, but unfortunately it wasn't for me.

Comment down below some of your favourite make-up items at the moment! I'm intrigued to see what everyone is loving.

New York City trip | 2017

On the 29th august I was lucky enough to experience a city I've wanted to travel to since I can remember. As part of my 18th birthday present and my sisters 21st my dad took us to NYC. We stayed there for 5 night and got to see some amazing places for example: Central park, Times Square and Broadway only to name a few. As well as sight seeing we got to try some delicious tasting American cuisine at some very American esk restaurants. New York City is such a beautiful place with a diverse range of people, the atmosphere and vibe it releases is one I will never forget, it truly is the city that never sleeps.

Instead of keeping these picture to myself I thought id share with you some of the amazing moments I was able to capture.
I am so grateful for the experience I was offered and can't wait to visit New York City again sometime in the future, see you next time!

(Manhattan from Staten Island Ferry)

(Guggenheim Museum)

(Rockefeller center)

(Times Square)

(View from the 'Top of the rock')

(Bryant park)

(Brooklyn bridge)

(View of Manhattan bridge from Brooklyn bridge)

(Distant view of Statue of Liberty from Brooklyn bridge)

(9/ll memorial plaza)

('Bills' a very typical American diner with exactly burgers and cheesy fries)

('Ellen's Stardust Diner' a small restaurant which does amazing waffles that you must check out! The atmosphere is phenomenal with aspiring Broadway performers singing a diverse range of songs every minute.)
